We have until August 4 to see ““Calligraphy of Korean Seon Masters: Hanam and Tanheo of Woljeongsa Temple” at the National Museum of Korea.

I don’t read Chinese nor do I pretend to understand even the basic points of calligraphy. But the beautiful writing from the roughly 80 pieces on display at this exhibit allowed me to tap into the calm state of mind that could only have been achieved through a lifetime of scholarship and self-discipline. The works are a marker in a forest for those of us who occasionally find themselves lost in a world filled with distraction and illusion.
